Val Comelico
“And all the verdant Comelico scattered over with hamlets hidden mid pine trees and fir trees.” Giosuè Carducci (1835 -1907) Val Comelico, its beauty, its pristine environment amid rich green forests, lush pastures and idyllic villages, is fitted to inspire a poet. In 1892 Giosuè Carducci spent his summer holiday in the Dolomites. He established himself in Cadore and wrote “Ode on Cadore”. The poet made a pilgrimage through the valley gathering those impressions he so graphically rendered in the poem.
